I saw a post on Facebook, back in March 2022, from Portia Putatunda, founder Planet Spiti Foundation, requesting for volunteers and donations for the kids, for whom she is tirelessly and courageously working for. I messaged her, asking if I could talk to her directly to know more about the cause. When she described her plan for these kids and the vision of Planet Spiti Foundation; I felt the urge that drove me to be associated with her and the kids. What Portia has achieved with these kids in a few months is commendable. What Planet Spiti Foundation is doing to bring change in the life of local people and these kids is unbelievable. I am honoured to know them and am willing to contribute whatever possible in my limited capacity.

Spiti - I never thought I’ll fall in love with you. When I reached you, I thought I’ll return back probably in a week. But that week became two, then a whole month. Why? Because you are a treasure that holds beautiful souls. How can I forget that hug by little Kunsell whenever she sees me! How can I forget the way Desell runs to me with a big wide smile, calling me sirrrr! How can I forget that walk with Choddon when she never left my hand for the whole way! How can I forget the way when little Nomu, probably three years of age, looking at me and saying you look beautiful! How can I forget the way little DJ takes charge when I immediately ask him to do something by saying, Yes sir! Every single child there gave me something to cherish, some moment I cannot forget, some story I would love to carry on and share. Is it only the kids? No! Portia - the magical founder of Planet Spiti. The way she cared for me, the way she got excited for my birthday even when she knew I don’t celebrate birthdays, the way she understood so many things without me mentioning, the way she showered love on me genuinely, I’ll always cherish that. For a person, who is never into destinations, who is more into conversations, perspectives, learnings, and unlearnings, Planet Spiti gave me everything I wanted, and on top of that, this is a beautiful place. What else anyone wants! Thank you so much PSF for having me, for making me learn and unlearn.

“Learning use Creativity, Creativity leads to Thinking, Thinking provides Knowledge. Knowledge makes you Great!” Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Planet Spiti Foundation, through it's creative way of teaching & learning, has taken the humongous challenge not to deprive those children who wish to seek KNOWLEDGE and want to achieve better things in life. If we cannot be there in Kaza in physical form, our love, support & prayers continue to be with Portia & her team, strengthening them with the much required sources & resources. Keep the Faith!
